If you take the radio into a dealer they have ways to look up the code if they remember how to do it !

They gave you the code of the radio which was originaly in the car you quoted when new , it had a exchange radio fitted and the new code was not logged into the system by the dealer or someone fitted a second hand radio of unknown origin .

I did say they can do it if you take the radio in to them .. they have another list of radio codes for radios going by serial number and a couple more details from the case .

Last resort: if you remove the diodes or cut loose on one side the code will be 0000 or 6666.

If the dealer-supplied code and the one calculated from the diode positions don’t work then it is possible the diode matrix has gone faulty and no longer recognises the original code. Under these circumstances 6666 or 0000 might work anyway.

If you end up with OFF on the display following the entry of too many incorrect codes then it is necessary to leave the radio powered on for several hours in order to get back to CODE on the display.
