Default Standing Battery Discharge Rate

Can someone tell me the 'normal' battery discharge Amp rate with the car locked and the alarm on.

I see two rates one immediately on locking and a reduced one after about a minute (this is I suspect a time out to let the alarm settle down)

thanks

Yes, you'll have to leave it for 5-10 mins before taking your reading. A normal discharge is around 30-35mA - anything over 50mA needs to be investigated

Hi when testing my 2002 s60 D5 , I was getting 70ma, that is to high, I had a good Bluetooth adapter wired to the factory head unit, and this was the problem , I did a reset on the Bluetooth adaptor and all is now good about
30ma,
so if you have a Bluetooth adapter on your head unit, look there,

DID A BIG CHECK of possible discharge routes.

First under the bonnet fuse box checked all live fuses then with my DVM in circuit on AMPS pulled each live fuse.

NOPE none of them were the problem.

Second pulled off the panel at the drivers door and did the same check on the fuses there.

Apart from dropping the fuse pulling tool down behind the trim panel that also was a negative, none of the live fuses were responsible for this drain.

Checked the LPG power feed as well when under the bonnet

I did this all with the alarm on and the door/boot and bonnet locks tripped to fool the car into thinking it was locked.

Now is there another fuse box hiding somewhere???

thanks

Did you get to the bottom of this? Always interested to see what the cause was.

NOT as YET

going to be replacing the faulty alarm module ASAP and once I have that done I will again look at the locked and alarmed amp loading

Alarm Module DEAD battery leaked acid {fumes} and PCB covered in a sticky black layer and now tracks missing from the PCB

Bugger of a job to get to, and get the inner wing cover off, I still have two rivets to drill out {the heads came off easily but the bodies are still firmly fixed in the wing with the steel centres still in there}.

I used a sharpened wood chisel to slacken the security bolt that holds on the steel mount for the alarm module then a pair of forceps to loosen it totally.

Why VOLVO have used a snap off head security bolt there is somewhat baffling.

Still getting silly readings for standing discharge rates, though they have gone down quite significantly.

This car has lots of goodies like the screens in the back of the headrests and various other bits including a phone, the CD multi player space is empty

So once the new alarm module and fitting kit {£££ OUCH} gets delivered (next week) and fitted I will again have a search for this mystery discharge load.

Tis not really a big issue as the car is normally connected to a high tech CTEK MXS 5.0 charger.
