Smile Amazon Estate Locking fuel cap

FYI. Expensive, but for the man who just has to have one it won't be a killer.

40% off the 140/164 ones if needed.

I was excited first, but disappointed seeing it. This wil just be a modified saloon fuel cap, and will not flush with the panel as the non-lockable and lockable original Estate fuel caps do. The original Estate locking fuel cap is chromed but has a completely different design as the one cvi offers. The design of the original lockable is quite similar with the original non-lockable.
See here (nothing new to be seen for Derek, he posted this picture May 24th, 2017):

Yes, the change is probably just a suitable lock plate that's held on by a couple screws. The one with the central bar would have been well received, even if it had to be painted for colour matching. The chrome one is fine but would be expensive bling.

Simon from Brookhouse is asking to see what he's doing. The sedan one fits the estate anyhow without any mods but sits further out in a bigger aperture and assume you are correct and all he is doing is what he did for the 140 one.

FOr info. CVI Mikael said saloon caps have a vent hole Estate should not so he’s made a few without vent. But also he has found that Volvo used two filler neck sizes on the Estate. To costly to make exactly correct cap.

I got together a collection of this shape Waso caps along with some bar type ones which are also Waso but because my Estate cap still has the chain retainer I haven't progressed the project. I've not even been able to try a saloon one. Yes the Estate does have it's own breather tube.

This is a saloon one in a estate. I’m the same my chain stops me from trying others.

I fitted the bar type one on mine as I didn't like the look of the other. A bit square peg in a round hole.
