Default Cam Belt...

It's coming up time for the next cambelt change (240k miles). Is it worth changing the ancilliary bits as well? (guides and water pump etc)

Thanks.

I'd have thought it well worth doing the tensioner & water pump at the same time. I understand that if the water pump seizes, it can take the cam belt with it.

Thanks - I was thinking along similar lines. Anybody know how much water pumps go for?

I'd get a genuine one, I think they are about £50. Try some where like http://www.partsforvolvosonline.com/ or www.fcpgroton.com

Had mine changed very recently for £64. Genuine part I believe. This was a Volvo specialist rather than a main dealer.

Hope that helps
