VIDA diagnostics (fault occurrence history)
Hi,
Really sorry if this is a stupid/frequent question but I've tried searching and unfortunately a lot of the terms are quite generic. Anyway - assuming I wanted to prove that a fault had first occurred on a vehicle prior to it being sold to me (ie a bit of equipment wasn't working), would this level of detail be held with Volvo/within VIDA even though DTCs have been cleared since? clone vida wont read a 2019 volvo it would need to be read at the dealers which could be expensive ask the price before taking it as it might become less important to you when the dealer tell you the cost

Thanks, but worst case the data should be there at the dealer/anyone with access to proper VIDA?
The price of the replacement part I'm potentially arguing about is multiples of the cost of some "diagnostics" assuming that's what plugging it in would be billed as! edit: Actually, I've already paid the main dealer to diagnose the issue and will see if they can share the info - thanks for your help. vida diagnostics
If you paid the main dealer for a diagnostic report it should be supplied as a print out. I was ripped off to the tune of £198 by my main dealerand they then qouted me a staggering £1220 to replace the CEM to "see if that cured the fault". If not they would try then next stage. Don't think so! I bought a vida/dice tablet from a fellow member on here for less than the dealer charged me for an hours work!!!

In saying that, if its an actual fault, wiping it won't solve the problem. It'll just return again.
