Default XC60 Front Mudflaps

I am thinking of having a go at fitting my own front mudflaps to my XC60 and any info I can find states that they have to be drilled and riveted but what are the 3 slightly domed bolts with an Allan key on the corner of the front wing ? Can I just use these mountings for the mudflaps ?

It is very simple - I did my own (back and front) in about 20mins. The existing screws can be used. Volvo supplies a set of identical screws with the mudflaps. For some reason you replace the screws when you fit the mudflaps. Not sure whether you have seen the attched file?

xc90 & 70 needs to be drilled and riveted and you had to remove at least the rear wheels,

xc60 is hex screws, easy to fit front and back no wheels need to be removed..

dealers charge same to fit xc60 flaps as other xc basing it taking 1 hour +-

£ 160 + fit your own for £60

......beat me by 5 mins. Well done! Don't know why they are not standard. They stop all of the road dirt being sprayed up the front doors,

Hi,
I paid £28.00 plus VAT for the fronts, as they are a doddle to fit (see above) I may put some on the back before winter

Question - do they actually work and do they prevent the streak of brown that appears down the side of the car from puddles etc?

The reason I ask is that I had them on my v70 and they looked nice but were completly ineffective but I would consier them if the consensus is that they work on an XC60

Thumbs up

I get my mud flaps (4) as a gift (among other thinks) from the dealer and already installed.
They work fine and hold plenty of dirt and mud away from the site of the car especially from the back.
And it all most invisible on the car
