perhaps the box shifts the power curve to the right a little so more power in higher revs but less responsive in low revs....

it seems that way......

Interesting figures though!

OK Here's the final set of timings

I'm not sure what to make of them.

Is it worth the dosh for the improvements seen against the stock timings ???.

Hmmmm

Comments would be appreciated

Nice work.......

I'd be disappointed with those stats.....

A second here or there doesn't really seem worth imho. Can you feel the difference??

Considering the extra money on insurance and the possibility of invalidating any warranty (if it still applies)..... And if something goes wrong and volvo prove you had a powerklick you can bet your life they wouldn't pay out!

It's possible this sort of bolt on kit isn't as effective with the new systems on the Euro IV which are much more complex than the comparitively crude Euro III models, perhaps this is where a proper remap would show it's true worth.

really it should be down to how the car feels to drive.

a second is a lot more than you think!! the difference for the 1/4 mile between a chipped 850 t5 and std is about 0.7 - 1 seconds which using your view dosent sound very good.

but in the real world the chipped car would have pulled quite a few lengths on the std one.

so i say a second is actually a very good result.

I'm going to re run the test on a level bit of road with the car being put back to standard and again with box back in and set to +2

This time I will make a real effort to keep the tests as similar as possible to get as accurate comparison as possible.

I'll also get my other half in the car so it's lugging a bit more weight ( not much extra I have to say or she'll kill me ) as this should emphasize any differential.

I'll report back

OK here are the time as accurate as I can get them

Only 6th Gear seems to show any major difference.

5th actually looks worse
4th is Marginally better
3rd is pretty much unchanged

I'm leaning towards sending the unit back.

Am I being overly optimistic about what I was expecting in terms of difference

forget the figures, does the car feel nicer to drive with or without the box. thats what would interest me.

If I'm honest I would have to say I'm struggling to notice any huge difference

The were no huge 'flat' spots in performance to start with, it pulled like a mule, out of the box.

I guess I was looking for a 'mule with an elastic band round it's nuts' which probably wasn't realistic.

I spoke to Andrew at Diesel Tuning UK and I have decided to return the unit as I can't justify a couple of hundred quid for the difference I'm getting.

I have to say though that he has been a gent to deal with from the word go and was always willing to take some time to see if he could help.

I would have no concerns with dealing with these guys again should the need arise.
