DDM-004C is the killer, replacement should cure it ...

I've had to buy a DDM in the past (two, in fact, about 18 months apart - it's a long story) and bought both via Parts Gateway, (it's a salvage search engine - I was quite impressed with it tbh) - I phoned both before committing to the purchase and both companies were very helpful and accurate (although I recall one of them couldn't tell me the details of the car it came from, [age, mileage, etc]) but both units were good and came with 3 months warranty. Try and buy one that's close to the year of the car as I remember reading somewhere that there may be a conflict of software.

That apart, the main problem with salvage units is that there may be hairline cracks in the buttons or that the facia surround will be a different colour, but changing the surround is a doddle; and if you, like me, decide to replace any cracked buttons with good ones from your old unit, it is possible but remember to add a small smear of Vaseline to the rocker point as it may be a tight fit.

Hope that helps.

There's really no need to replace the ddr module unless its had a catastrophic failure in the pcb like delaminating or a crack across the board. To repair 95%+ of these units its simply a case of using heat on the boards to relieve dry joints or hairline cracks in the solder caused by age and vibration from the front door speaker.
Very simple to do, it took me 25 minutes including a 10minute cooling cycle.
I know I'm a new member on here but have many years experience repairing Xbox 360 RROD and playstation YLOD which are similarly repaired.
If anyone would like some in-depth instructions feel free to message me.

I have a spare DDM, not sure of the part number but if anyone wants it for free they're welcome to it.

Hello!

To be honest I live in Ipswich and this is too far from Wolverhampton. Is it possible if I give my address can you send by post. Of course I will pay the delivery.

Thanks a lot.

Not sure why but the photos in my original post have disappeared so here they are again.

Hi Shadey,
I found popping the module up out the door an impossible task. Do you have to remove the door card to facilitate module removal?
