I find that the only things that I need to change are the radio station from Radio 1 and turn the volume down after my wife and family have been in the car

@chopper3 - you need to play with the EQ settings for Rear and Front outside the normal Bass & Treble settings.

I have mine just as I like it now which took some doing. I play everything from an 64GB 3rd Gen Apple iTouch (which works OK but god help you if you want to search for anything as the car interface just can't cope and is so S-L-O-W -- Worse since iOS4.x!!). Most of my music is encoded in Apple 256Kbs iTunes Plus or MP3 300Kbs+ format so is higher quality than the standard setting (although not 100% lossless clearly). I prefer it a bit bass heavy but that suites the type of music I prefer. Happy to photo my EQ settings and post them here in case you want to try?

B.T.W. - Do you have the Subwoofer..? I do and so most of the Bass is driven through that not the stereo 'bass' setting.

The only comment I would make is, having previously had the Dynaudio system in my C70 which was very loud with the roof up, that the High Performance kits doesn’t go loud enough (I knew it would be no match but hadnt appreciated the difference) ;-), worse, after extended play at high volumes, the system volumestarts to go down, presumably as the amp gets hot (this was a known issue on the amp fitted to my C70 according to the dealer when I tried to get them to investigate it, which may have been a blag, but as a result I've not raised this issue with my dealer for the XC60).

I wondered if anyone had changed their settings and found a genuinely neutral sound - if so would you let me know the various settings you made please.

Thanks in advance.

That would be good, photo of the screen would suffice as I'm struggling to find the best sound too.

Using a memory stick from tesco which seems to be working fine though.

Here you go.....

To be honest - I do change the Sub & Bass settings occasionally to compensate for over boomy music.

The Sub in the car isn't quite as deep or voluminous as in the Dynaudio setup I had in my old C70, but suspect the sub I have in the XC60 is the same as you'd have got it you ordered the Dynaudio (before they dropped it)/Premium sound system i.e. I don't think there are any differences in the Sub regardless of what’s fitted up front, but I could be wrong?

Hope this helps... happy tuning ..

I printed off the settings and matched them up to my car (without the subwoofer as dont have one :-( Very happy with the new settings, the clarity is excellent all the way up to full volume and not too boomy.

Top man J Neail, thanks
