Hi, ok lets start from the top

Sounds like a classic case of a split boost hose or intercooler pipe / intercooler itself.
It is amazing just how feeble turbo diesel cars can be when there is a split in the boost pipe or an air leak in the system. Please tell me the AA man did do a basic hose checkover prior to recommending changing the MAF?? Some splits can be hard to find or see, especially if it is in the fold or bend of a pipe. You could do with a second person to revv the car while looking for splits (but please do be careful whee you put your hands if the engine is running). Some splits will only show themself when there is a bit of pressure going through and as the pipe flex's a split may show itself. If your problem is nothing to do with splits, then you want to check the pipe that leads onto the turbo. This over time can lose its integrity and becomes week where it is prone to collapse. So as the turbo spins the pipe gets sucked but because its gone week it collapses and restricts airflow. Last edited by SonyVaio; Jun 27th, 2012 at 21:27. |

Which one? there are two of those:
Or perhaps the turbo itself has called it quits! do hear it spooling at all?

Still no boost
Been thinking about this, when i took the pipes off the old TBC there was a whoosh of air came out but when i take the pipes off the new TBC aftyer running engine no whoosh, so maybe the pipes are a slacker fit.
I have some small spring pipe clips off a motorcycle carbs so i think i'll try them tomorrow then try looking for leaks how you said (minding my fingers) cheers |

Ok then, try putting the old no.1 back in place, and try putting the newly purchased one in location no.2 and see if that helps.
No. 2 is difficult to reach though, probably more accessible from under the car after removing the under tray.

OK changed TBC No 1 for No 2 checked all pipes and fittings for leaks with engine running, all pipes seem to be pressuring up if you know what i mean.
It is running a bit better but i am still not getting that umph, that kick in the back if you floor it and it is still like a slug on hills/inclines. Getting a slight over run, for a split second when i turn it off, could it be down to EGR valve or intake manifold or something like that ? The more i run it the quicker it feels but that could just be me getting used to it Any help would be much appreciated cheers |

Think this problem is escalating,
Egr valve looks relaltively clear but i have noticed that i am getting quite a few air bubbles running through fuel line, Would this reduce my fuel pressure and reduce my power ??? Got a new filter on the odds it will require changing |
