May be able to add it back in as it is likely to be a MOD or optional module (or whatever vB call them)..

for my two penneth i cannot see the problem with other forums using the forum as a advertising/space filling facility but it is only couteous and respectful to ask a moderators permission...it is only good manors and ensures the degree of decorum that a forum needs....
it amuses me that yet again that moderators have had to exchange words with by majority, vpcuk members...
cheers

Jod - mate ...
to be honest I don't perceive, (you may say naively!), that degree of segregation - At the top of this screen I see 'Volvo community', isn’t that what we're trying to achieve? I'm a vpcuk forum member, yes, but I allege myself to both that and this forum

I can't see that it makes any odds which site the initial post is located, if people want to tie themselves up with whether its a 'VOC meet' or otherwise then its down to them isn’t it? As far as I'm concerned its a bunch of Volvo owning people getting together at a pub - that said, I will of course, get the nod from IC or Bob in future!

Anyway mate, come along and they'll be a beer in it for you

There are no 'issues'. This is an open house and this forum will accept posts about any meets, whoever they are organised by.

Although this forum is on the VOC web site, and on the VOC server, provided at VOC expense and run by VOC staff, it is not an official part of the VOC. As has been stated above, it is for the Volvo community.

Bob

Question non forum events

As I have not posted for a while & have been invited to by the moderators, with an automatically generated message, here goes: QUOTE

"Although this forum is on the VOC web site, and on the VOC server, provided at VOC expense and run by VOC staff, it is not an official part of the VOC. As has been stated above, it is for the Volvo community."

Am I missing something here ? How come it is not part of the VOC, who run the site, members pay for it, VOC staff (club officials) moderate it & it is on VOC server ?

Yours in wonderment

Regards, Richard VOC 3801

Yes but the relationship is not bi-directional, i.e you can be a member of these forums and post as much as you like here and have nothing whatsoever to do with the VOC. Also of course not everyone in the VOC uses this site. Bob said it is not an official part of the VOC, which makes sense to me because, in theory, every single person who posts here could be someone who is not a member of the VOC!

Whether there should be a separate forum for VOC members only, whether membership of this forum should be restricted to VOC members and how this site is funded are topics way beyond the scope of this thread and discussing them is probably opening a can of worms so i certainly am not going to do that!

(BTW I am a VOC member).

Pete
