1990 Volvo 240 GL Estate
Sadly the time has come to part with my VOLVO 240GL ESTATE.
I've owned this car 3 years and have covered over 30,000 miles. It has been absolutely brilliant and never let me down in true Volvo fashion. I am only selling it due to purchasing a newer Volvo in that lust for speed. I've been using the car daily until last week and even entered it few car shows with it where it attracted much more attention than I thought it would! TAX : END MARCH 2010 MOT: OCTOBER 2010 Body: 1990 Volvo 240 GL estate. The paintwork has scratches and stone chips which are expected. A scrape on the passenger door (see picture) which is only paint damage and has not dented the car. Another scrape on the rear Drivers door (see picture). The rear arches are solid and have had the inner lips painted with silver smoothrite to protect them. The car had one patch of welding 3inch square to the passenger floor pan for the last MOT which was carried out professionally. It has never been welded anywhere else. Genuine Volvo heavy duty towbar. The headlight wipers and motos have been removed as they seized up. Engine: B200F 2.0 litre injection. 133,000miles. No rattles, knocks, bangs, smoke or any nasties. Fully serviced every 6,000 miles by myself. Last done 3000miles ago. Suspension: Had new genuine Volvo front and rear suspension bushes for the last MOT. Genuine Volvo H/D shock absorbers all round. Brakes: Had a new rear caliper for the MOT in October and the two front ones were replaced in summer 2008. Interior: Standard interior in good condition.. Genuine Volvo floor trays. Passengers door pocket has the usual crack in it but drivers side is fine. The original radio died so I have converted the wiring to accept a normal radio. I will include a Clarion tape player in the sale. Wheels: Rare Volvo Virgo GLT wheels with Centre caps. Full set of 5 wheels. These are not in the best condition with brake dust colouring and curbing to the edges but they still look good and are 100% straight (no bends or cracks!). Road tyres have good tread but spare is legal limit. Includes 5 centre caps. Modifications: GLT grill and headlight eyebrows Clear indicators and side repeaters (Imported from USA) Air horns Halogen 100w rally headlight bulbs K&N panel filter cherry bomb exhaust (standard backbox included in sale) Spax 40mm lowering springs Genuine Volvo upper strut braces (Imported from Australia) DVS Performance lower strut braces (Imported from Australia) DVS Performance aluminium sumpguard (Imported from Australia) Alfa 156 front seats Leather Mountney steering wheel and boss Sparco gearknob Sparco rally pedals Genuine Volvo volt gauge (Imported from Australia) Fire extinguisher next to passenger seat. Ive really enjoyed the past 3 years with the car and I'm hoping she goes to someone who will look after her and give her the love she deserves. I really am going to miss the old girl but I don’t require her anymore. I have tried to be honest about the car but if I've missed anything of have any questions please feel free to ask. Viewing is welcomed. CAR IS LOCATED JUST OUTSIDE FILEY, NORTH YORKSHIRE £750:00 ONO Tel: Anthony on 07970 316500 Sorry no photos of the inside but I forgot and its now locked up in the garage and its ****ing down outside! I can get interior shots on request for Tomorrow if I remember. The thing on the dash will be removed as Im keeping it. its only blu taced on Sony cd player NOT INLUDED. The car will have a Clarion tape player installed. Last edited by Antz; Jan 16th, 2010 at 16:38. Reason: forgot to add pictures! |

Hi Antz,
Nice looking car. Sorry this question isn't about buying it. I'm intrigued by the Alfa seats,I'm assuming they are not a straight swap, how much work is involved in making them fit? |

Nice! As it's an LH2.4 injected car you'd be able to combine this with some 940 turbo bolt on parts and 2.0 Turbo ECU's...
Good luck with the sale - looks tidy! |
