Save old cars, and save the planet. Modern cars only seem to have a 5-15 year lefe span, and they are full of electronic gagetry that I don't want. I've had to bail out several friends with various electical failures or tyre problems, and that is with a 1988 740, that only seems to have minor difficulties. Junking the spare parts you have will only damage you, and the environment. Far better to put them on Ebay. If you can't find a competent garage with reasonable prices, then do the job yourself, there are loads of helpful videos on YouTube. Also, I'm starting to put together a site with tips on how to repais parts, or find alternatives. For example, I replaced a failes cable release for my Convoy with a free cable support from a local fireplace installer. I've started at thread on the 740 board here on how to repair a heater hose rather than pay a ripoff £150 price for a new one.
