engine question

in my local scrap yard there is a L reg 440 1.6

i looked in the engine bay and the engine is totaly difrent to mine?

did they change the engines on the P reg 1.6 440's

just wondering

yep my mates old 440 turbo m reg was markedly dif to mine his one had the abs stuff on the drivers side mine is on the left right in the way of various bits(knuckles cut ow) he had more pipes and some in different places his gearbox was different as was his clutch and how it was mounted to gearbox also he had vented disks i havnt so i dare say the done it throgh out the range that l reg must be 1 of the first 1.6 as the were introduced in feb 92 then the whole range was given a facelift in 94 new bonnet etc so i suppose they fiddled with engines annoying !!!!!!
