Default C70 stereo upgrade

So the cd player in my new c70 vert doesn't work and was wondering how difficult it is to change it out for an after market double din dvd player. It currently has the 3 disc changer double din.

Youll need an iso loom adapter then youll need to file down the two raised rails so the dbl din cage can fit.

filing down the rails doesnt affect the fitting on the oem radio. You just can fit a single din in the top.

Or you can fit a single din and a din pocket or ebay cup holder

Hi CornwallC70

Is your radio a SC901? They are good units, but yes the CD changer can go wrong.
A C70 with a SC901 sometimes comes with an extra amp in the boot, or possibly under the seats, and may have a Dolby. A C70 may also have a centre speaker on the dash and good speakers in the doors and behind the rear seats.
C70 sometimes have very good sound systems, so don't overlook that.
... or add an MP3 player connected to your SC901, and forget about CDs.

If you really dont want to keep your SC901, would you be interested in swapping your faulty SC901 for a working SC805? I come down to Penzance fairly often, or could post.

Steve

As above, if it's a 901 with centre chanel then it's a very very good system and worth fixing. You'll have to spend a lot of cash to better it with aftermarket.

Yes, the SC901 with Dolby Pro Logic system and Dynaudio speakers was awesome in its day and still is.

As long as half the speakers haven't blown like mine. Front dash tweeters being most noticeable.

Makes the system sound very rear biased and just plain wrong in Pro-logic mode!

I took the unit out of the wife's C70 and replaced with the Pioneer AVIC60DAB, really to get an integrated system for sound, sat nav and phone. Works well with minimal wiring work.

Now for sale as we're selling the car (I kept the old unit to replace).
