Default A stray machine screw - heater controls area thereabouts

Taking out the metal panel from switch alley area that holds the heater controls, a screw fell down from perhaps the heater control area.

M5 x 25 with a Torx T25 pan head. Unusually it has a few mm of unthreaded extension at the tip of the screw. The usual slightly brassy colour genuine Volvo screw.

Does anyone recognise the screw, where it goes, what it does, how to get it back where it should be, please?
