Default Quick key 'hack'

As my car keys were looking a tad worn and the rubber/plastic had come off I decided to give the Sugru a go.

You can buy it at B+Q or Screw fix (amongst other places). It's exactly like plasticine except it hardens to a rubber like texture after 24 hrs.

This was my key before.

What the stuff looks like out of the package

Moulding it as best I could and rejoicing in the memories of old school days building plasticine boobs.

And the finished repair (the screwdriver was used to 'round' off the sugru inbetween the key hole just to look a bit better)

Hmmm - maybe good for cracked rubber on base of aerial.

I have some of that plastic which you can mould when it has been warmed up in a glass of hot water - quite different to this, sets hard and not as easy to shape, but has its uses.

I have to consciously keep stopping myself from trying to reinvent the wheel all the time - that one sneaked through.
