Default V40 estate boot cubby hole

I'm thinking of cutting out the left side of my estate boot for a cubby hole for a fire extinguisher/first aid kit. There is the same space as the subwoofer opposite. Has anyone done this and how was it done?

Also while I'm here, does anyone know if the power to the subwoofer is permanent live or switched?

Thanks!

My phase 1 has a very handy alcove there. Don't know why they deleted it on the phase 2. I keep a bottle of screenwash there.

I think you might have more success looking for rocking horse dung. They may have been fitted to P1's but not a standard fitment, must have been an option. My high spec P1 did not have one and I have never seen one until happy diver's post. Good luck with the hunt btw

Ebay is sometimes a magical thing... found a cubby hole for a tenner. Will let you know how the fitment to my phase 2 goes...

I've always had a problem with priorities, I need to clean my EGR valve, replace the clutch and sort a rusty wing but hey, boot cubby hole

P2 fire extinguisher holder is a metal frame screwed to the floor pan just below the subwoofer. Annoyingly I didn't remove it from my last car when I sold it.
