2005 xc90 t6

Evening.

I’m hoping for a bit of a guide on what value to place on a 2005 T6 I’ve been offered in part exchange for a classic I’m selling if possible? I’m more familiar with older Volvos, and know the T6 could potentially be tough to move on...... prices seem all over the place too!

It’s a 2005 car with 12 months MOT and 65k, with Good service history. I’ve not viewed it yet, but apparently drives well with no issues. I presume it’s auto.

My car is advertised for £5k, and I think to do the deal would need to value the T6 at circa £4K, which is above trade price. However, with the low miles, thought it might be worth a look.

Also, any advice as to what to look for on these too, as my only experience with this era Volvo, has left my with large bills relating to gearboxes. I’d like to avoid that this time if possible!

Any help greatly appreciated.

If it's a T6 I wouldn't take it at all. The general assumption is that the transmissions on these fail, it's more of question when that happens, and not if...

And as this is a manufacturer error, even a new transmission will not help. No, I'd stay away from that...sorry!

I wouldn't touch the T6 at all and if buying it would have to be sub £2k.

The gearbox is made from chocolate and many people now know this,

Honestly, walk away and don't look back.
