Default ABS Issues - help..

Afternoon all,

MY99 S70 2.0 10v

Recently had the front discs changed (pads were changed late last year) and am now experiencing an ABS pulsing effect when slowing from anything above 5mile/hour. Nothing seems to be amiss when I physically check the set-up, backing plates aren't fouling discs etc, and I've no warning lights on the dash. Strangely, when I checked the PFV website earlier, I couldn't seem to find reference to ABS sensors, which I had presumed might be the cause of the issue?

What should I be checking or looking out for??

Thanks in advance.

Do you mean you can feel pulsing through the brake pedal?

This sounds like warped discs, but if they're new it sounds like the mating surfaces haven't been cleaned properly allowing the disc(s) to run out of true.

Classic symptoms of cracked or corroded reluctor rings on the front hubs. It won't put a fault light on as the ABS ECU simply thinks that the wheel is skidding, so does what it's supposed to do. Check them thoroughly and replace if at all suspect. It's also possible that an ABS sensor could give this fault, but statistically much less likely as a culprit.
