Just trying to help, could do without the BS.

When you shorten the panhard rod there isn't a great deal of "point" in measuring to 1/16th of an inch or that matter fractions of a mm.

The panhard rod, because it is fixed to the chassis, and the axle moves describes an arc. Therefore, whatever length you cut it to, the axle will move from left to right under the car as the suspension rises and falls. The wheels will never be quite central in the arches.

If you put the car up on stands with the springs you're going to use so it is in the ride height you're going to be running at and loosen the panhard rod at the axle you can push the body from left to right because the axle isn't laterally located. I'd use wheel ramps rather than axle stands. Whatever you do obviously make sure the car is well supported. The Panhard rod however doesn't take weight, it locates laterally.

Look at how much it is past the locating pin on the axle with the wheels central in the arches. Just measure between the arch and the tyre on each side. Then chop that amount off the rod. If someone wants to do that and worry about a few mm or 16th be my guest. Just remember the bushes are squidgy rubber and the rod is describing an arc.

The Volvo drawing are in metric. This is quite well know if you are into the P1800 as the metric drawings caused jensen great problems as they did not understand the funny metric system as just guessed the sizes!! Hence why Jensen stuff is all slightly differnt to the sweidish built P1800.

I would have also measured in imperial. rounding to the nearest 16 th makes sense or in metric the nearest mm
