Default Oh no...**impact**

Tues 27 May about 5pm

Followed a bus through my village, stopped behind it as it was letting passengers off at the bus stop(was about 3-4 meters behind) and the damn bus starts reversing !!!! WTF !!!! My headlights were on as its obligatory in sweden and was giving my horns some and they're not quiet!! Couldn't believe my eyes as it loomed up onto me, didn't have time to reverse but managed to take my handbrake off in time but #%CRUNCH####!!! The bus pulled forward a few feet and I got out to be met by the 'female' bus driver..I looked at the front of my Amazon and my heart sunk!!! "
"What the HELL WERE YOU THINKING!!?" I half shouted at her in my best swedish...."I was backing up to drop something off a couple of houses back...oooh I'm terribly sorry" she blurted out..jesus!! Why is it when you own a classic it's not just the metal that gets hurt..it's your soul!! All the hours put into it to restore it and the care you take..anyway I followed her to the bus depot and sorted all the insurance papers out with her and the boss of the bus company....I just hope that things dont take too long and my Amazon gets repaired back to the standard it was before this stupid woman backed her bus into me..

Damage that I can so far make out...

Both Hella spots smashed

Bonnet dented and creased, pushed back, can't close it and possible damage to hinges

Front Panel damaged, maybe beyond repair

Grill damaged/maybe able to save it.

Front bumper out of line, possibly bent bumper mounts ?

All I know it's enough to make a grown man cry .........

Now that would be scary, seeing that big yellow monster backing-up!!

The damage seems fairly minor, but I know I would be as upset as you are if it happened to my car.

Sorry to hear about that, she'll be fine again soon enough.

I had a guy do that to me when in my smart roadster at a gas station.
So it's nothing to do with gender.

Ouch! Very sorry to see that & I know how it feels. I hope that the other party have officially admitted full liability? It is not unknown in these situations for people to later deny that they were reversing, and instead claim that they were rear ended.

Difficult to tell from the pics, but perhaps the bumper alignment is more that the centre of the front panel has moved back and up, rather than the bumper shifting?

Hope you are able to get it all sorted easily!

Really sorry to see these pics.

I’m sure your car is fixable though as the damage doesn’t look too bad – I assume that the bus company insurance will see you right? (I have no idea how these things work in Sweden).

About 10 years ago I was sitting in stationary traffic minding my own business in sunny Nottingham, when a bus driver thought he had enough room to squeeze past my car (2 litre Ford Capri in mint condition). Turns out he was mistaken and left a bloody great scrape & dent down the side of my car. The bus company were pretty good about getting it sorted and I had my car fixed to my satisfaction within a couple of weeks... so here’s hoping you’ll get a similar result.

Oh, and I managed to blag a monthly pass out of them which I sold and went to the pub with the proceeds (if you don’t ask, you don’t get!).

Although you didn't have time to reverse, the fact that you got the brake off must have helped considerably.
Good luck getting your Amazon tidy again soon.

Did the passenger that the bus was reversing for, get home safely?
