Default Later M46 P type OD box set up in an Amazon?

I have a gearbox (standard 4 speed) problem in my 122s rally car and have located a "free" late 80's M46 with a P/J Laycock OD unit and a rubber coupling to the prop and naturally a gearshift way back. Has anyone in Amazonia ever tried converting this box to fit in an Amazon? a stronger smoother box would cope beeter with the increased pwer my engine is putting out.
If so would appreciate some tips on what needs converting / changing. (lots I am sure!!)

The M46 can be put on the B20, it would fit. It would sit tilted though. So or you have to cut the gearshaft and weld it back together in such a way that it would sit straight or you can use the front part of a M41 bellhousing and the back part of a M46 and weld them together. This way the M46 will sit straight under the car AND you can use the original clutch from the M41. On the link below they charge €150 for this fabricated part. Then you have to adapt the drive shaft, make a new bracket for the M46 or use one from a 200 series. The biggest problem would be the drive shaft tunnel, the Amazon tunnel is to narrow to accept the M46 so it has to be widend. Oh, and some creative rewiring would be needed too.
Here are some pictures of the different parts needed, among which is the adapted bellhousing.

It's possible to do, but it may be worth considering that the later gearbox will exclude the car from some events as it is a modification which is clear out of period. The M41 isn't weak, I don't think there is a great advantage to the M46 from a mechanical point of view.
