Question Glass replacement

How difficult to change window glass on rear door? Whilst rubbing down door for paint I noticed quite a bit of filler. I can gat a replacement door with no glass from a friend (about €100 with shipping from N portugal) same amount for new skin Or carry on ,repair original door, Haven't got down to bare metal yet, it's raining. Will post photo asap.

Well, here are a couple of pic's. It doesn't seem as bad as I thought. You can see from the close up that the corrosion was limited to the small oval dark area. It would also seem that the WHOLE door has been re skimmed over. I noticed it as there were some cracks. In the door pic' you can see where I cleaned away the cracked area at the top and there is clean metal underneath. I intend now to strip the whole door down to bare metal.

It is easy. You remove the aluminium door frame. Unhook the clips for the glass. The whole thing should take under an hour.

Yeah, I think you should take off all that filler before making a decision about the door. Post up some more photos of what you find. (Is your flash working? Photos are very dark).

Also open the door and look along the folded lower edge of the doorskin - any wobbles there indicate rust inside.

Well I have started to "rub (grind) down" the door.Doesn't look to bad, Don't think that I will need to replace it. Attached 2 "interesting" pic's.Shows the multi layers of paint etc.Top left is original paint. Allong bottom of pic'you can see the line of the door bottom. Will post complete rubdown pic' tomorrow when I've finished.
Hey,maybe I could sell one as a "lost" Picasso

You could sell the close-up photo as modern art!
