Default 108k Service - Suggestions in Midlands?

I have called two places so far, Paul Rigby Volvo and TMS (I think) in Coventry for a 108k service on my XC60. Both are coming out around £800 each, reduced to £650 when pressed as bit. This is because this service involves the cam and aux belts! Does anyone know anywhere else who may be able to do this service in the Midlands area cheaper?

Thanks

£650 with both belts changed doesn't strike me as over the top.

I have used Tollbar in Warwick for the servicing of my XC60, and they have been thorough and reasonable. They also give you a full years Volvo breakdown cover (worth about £80) with each annual service.

I think you will find that the 12 month roadside assistance is not unique to Tollbar. Lloyd Volvo at Carlisle do this and I think it is franchised dealer policy.

Default Free 12mth Volvo Assist

........is free from every UK Volvo dealer when you have a service there.

£650 for annual service and full timing belt change sounds like a fair price, based on my own experience when our XC90 needed doing.

By way of update, I managed to get Volvo Birmingham (Paul Rigby) to do it for £632, which was a price match to the Coventry branch. They also gave the 12 months free roadside assist, software updates etc.

Next cheapest was the specialist in Burntwood for £650

Am I mistaking something here? I think that the Volvo Assist is quite good. I would have my car serviced at the main dealer anyway and, in the last couple of years, Volvo Assist has come free with the service.

It includes European breakdown cover, including repatriation of the car (I think), and so saves me about £60 p.a. in buying a seperate insurance policy or adding euro cover to my breakdown recovery.

We have used the scheme once and they call centre was fine and the car was recovered in next to no time.

So, on the basis that I can be a bit naive at times, is there something I am missing about Volvo Assist?
