Default Volvo sales up massively in 2018! XC60 production switches

Hi All,

Volvo is doing very well!

Interesting here that the XC60 production is being shifted to avoid tariffs...EU made XC60s will now be exported to the US and China made XC60s sold to the EU.

I don't think this really matters as the S90s I have been in are very high quality so would expect the same with the XC60. Does show how multinationals can get around Tariffs.

This one indicates some xc60's will be exported back from China to Europe.

As you say an interesting way round tariffs - for a Chinese company.

Given that lead times are shocking for the S90 I don't think it will do the XC60 any favours unless they sort that out.

They need to match capacity to demand, then. I'm heading into week 17 of waiting for my Momentum trim XC60. I wouldn't have gone factory order had I anticipated this wait, at the very least ordering something from stock and compromising on packs.

Good news for us owners though, the better they do the better our decision is.

well they are building factories for the demand , then the xc40 comes out and there is double the demand anticipated due to European car of the year awards .

Look on the positive side. As long as demand outstrips supply residuals remain strong. I wonder why such good discounts can be had.......is it because the cars are "over priced" on purpose to give an artificial impression of getting a good deal. Or am I being cynical?

Come on Volvo, please open a factory in the UK.

A premium car factory in the UK is exactly what we need to boost confidence and economy right now!

Wishful thinking of course...
