Default Boot lights - cursed things

Hi all,

Not long got myself a 2007 S80 with the 2.4D engine.

I absolutely love the car and everything works aside from the CD changer (I fed it another CD and it stopped whirring every 30 seconds so I'm leaving it now as it's no longer irritating).

However, it seems the boot lights are temperamental. They sometimes work, on both sides, but tonight I went out and they decided they weren't wanting to. The bulbs are fine, and the car knows the boot is open (tail lights come on and car warns me if the boot is open)

Has anyone come across this before/what is the next thing worth checking?

Thanks

So, further to this, it seems the boot lock is the issue. As I open the boot, it'll sometimes whirr and the boot lights will come on. More often that not it won't
