wiper question
on the 2013 xc70, the passenger side wiper can be pulled away from the windsheild to help clean the snow off the windshield but the driver side hits the hood and can not be held away from windshield. what is the trick??

ive read in the book there is something you can do to lock them at twelve o'clock but havent done it as i dont know what happens next time you put the ignition on.
Think its to change the blades? I normally pull the blades of the windscreen at night if its icey and this is a pest on the XC70, even scraping isnt easy. Like you say there must be a trick. |

Either:
1) Open the bonnet, and the wipers should then be able to stand up away from the screen, or 2) turn ignition on, activate wipers, as they sweep up vertically, turn ignition off leaving the wipers vertically. |

Damn, why didn't I think of this. I've been going to the time and trouble of putting a plastic frost protector sheet over the windscreen but it never even occurred to me to quickly remove the wiper blades. That barely takes any time at all in comparison.
What a good idea!

it really is a daft set up and dont know why the bonnet is raised so high in the middle as the engine doesnt look any higher in the body. i think ill read the book properly, i think there is something about locking at 12 oclock as they must have though this was gash. |
