trip computer help please
hi new to this site, got a 2008 volvo v50 r design 2.0d just over a week ago.
I am very happy with the car just one thing really. my trip computer allows me to see new messages and dtsc(i think) off or on. i cant get my average speed, fuel consumption. Does this not come on this model? according to manuals online i think it should.it shows the temperature. everytime i turn the info wheel it just comes up with dtsc then blank then dtsc then blank etc. hope this makes sense. can anyone help. many thanks |

Could have been an optional extra that wasn't specified on the car?
My older S60 does similar, although I get 'Petrol' then nothing (it's a bi-fuel). The computer can be added by volvo for an eye-watering price (about £350 I think) |

Yip as said it is pretty expensive but all you require is a simple software update to turn it on. The annoying thing is, when it is turned on you will find that all the calculations have been happening and been recorded just not shown!
So basically you already have a fully working and functioning Trip computer it just doesn't show you the results on the dash. It will have been an optional extra at time of original purchase. I'm sure there was a member on here that had it done pretty cheap - iirc about £75. If you do a search for trip computer you should find his thread. |
