Thanks,
Eric.

Hi Eric

I still have 2 sets of grey door cards. I've started painting one set black with vinyl paint. Not sure what to do with other set as I would really rather sell as a set.

Cheers

Mark

Seems everyone wants grey door cards!

If you hadn't already started painting them i would have suggested a swap (possibly with cash adjustment) with my black ones which would have saved you some time, trouble and money on the paint.

Which one have you started painting Mark? I'm asking as i may have an idea........

I've started painting the grey ones from my 98 breaker. The other set came from another 98 Celebration in Edinburgh. I was going to keep them in case I fancy going grey in my own car ( which if you remember has a very good grey leather interior ) rather than black

I'm planning a bit of a "mix'n'match" in mine. The original headliner was dark grey/charcoal/black and made for a very gloomy Dogmobile.
The replacement 960 one is mid-grey, would prefer it lighter but have decided if i can get the door cards and carpet to match it should brighten it enough. while keeping the seats and dash black. Boot/load deck is likely to stay black as well as i find too much grey can be oppressive as well. With the darker seats etc, the grey will seem lighter so not as oppressive - that's the thinking behind it!

Also want to tint the side windows a little darker green, not much, just enough to make a difference inside although i suppose from the outside it'll look nicer too.

I'm a bit in the same boat Dave. My car originally had the horrible dark grey cloth seats but all interior plastics ( upper and lower dash and door cards) were black. I now have a pretty mint grey leather seats fitted but have terrible wrinkly door cards. Never seem to be able to find unwrinkled black door cards so thought I would paint one of my sets of grey ones black. My thinking is the grey cards will look odd as they wont match my black lower dash.

Hope all that makes sense

My black door cards aren't wrinkled, reckon it must be a 940 thing! I could end up with the door cards looking odd then as my dash is all black too but as i'm keeping my seats black, that will help tiie things in.

Hard to tell until you try Dave. That's why I'm hanging onto my spare grey door cards

The wrinkling was a mid life crisis on 940's Early and late ones were fine it was just the middle ones where they changed to some sort of eco glue. Mine being a 96 car is slap bang in that era. Both my mint grey ones came from 98 Celebration models which seem to be mainly grey interiors

I think a visit to my local carpet shop for a pale grey remnant is in order at some point then a carpet fitting session!

After that i'll take a view on the door cards.

As for eco-glue - no doubt another EU Directive involved somewhere!
