General Error code p0299

Hi there I have a V50 1.6 diesel 2012 has been great for the last 2 years
Mileage is 175000+ reduced power has come up on dash error code is p0299
There is a whistling noise at 2000 rpm and she is struggling up the hills
My son and I couldn’t find any leaks whilst reving engine today could the turbo
Itself be faulty any advise would be welcome.

Without engine load there almost none over pressure.
You must pressureize the intake ,intercooler with some selfmade adapters like a drinkflask with a bicycle pump to pinpoint or rule out any leaks

Hello, did you ever resolve this? ive got a similar issue on my petrol XC60. Vaccum lines are all good, no real issues when in the higher RPM range, but when trying to take-off from traffic lights is when the performance issue comes up.
