Default V90 Rear light Problems

Sorry if I have repeated this in another thread, I've never used this
Anybody know anything about V90 tail lights on a 2018 V90 R?

I had an intermittent fault on the nearside outer light which seemed to get worse this year. The leds gradually got worse and then finally did I lose all the Leds but the smaller tail light went as well.
Did a bit of a search on the net and found many similar problems. I rang my local volvo specialist who told me that most issues will be fixed by cha ging the main unit.
Changed the unit today but still not working.

Have I missed something?

The main light, especially the Left hand one, gets water ingress as the top bolt falls out. Allowing water into the awful foam seal at the bottom. This then fills the light unit and the electronics are at the bottom. The Tailgate light units also suffer from water ingress and can make the whole side look like it's failed. If you disconnect the Tailgate light the main light can light again. Unless it has water ingress as well.

Just had my LH main light and RH Tailgate light replaced at Volvo. £760 fitted incl. VAT.
I had previously removed the Main light and tried to dry it out. It never recovered.

I wonder if this problem applies to facelifted (MY22+) rear lights as well. They have reworked LEDs and maybe housing, so not sure. Anybody has any known cases for that?
