Xc60 display upgrading
Location: Nottingham
Talking Xc60 display upgrading Ok, I'm new to this forum. I'm sure this has many threads, but the internet of late don't help anyone anymore. I have just brought a 2010 Volvo xc60 d5, 205 Know I'm after a couple of things. But one that I ain't to happy with, is the standard display. Sticks out of the top of the dash. Works fine, but would like to if possible to fit the centre screen, don't have to be a nav type. Happy with the stereo, even the standard center screen, don't have to be larger types, just the centre display Could I just buy the centre screen/the right vent sits round it, then the top vent that sits more flush with out the display. Is there anything else I need, will the wiring/harness fit the screen or does that need changing also. Again, done lots of searches, can't find anything on this. Advice would be great. Thanks in advance |

I had a look, & I'd don't seem the same sort of thing I'm after.
Anyways, I've brought everything. Screen, vent part with the cut out for the screen, & the top part for the speeker. Know the issue, took it all apart, to find Volvo don't just add the wires/plugs as most other manafactors. Has the space to fit the screen, but no bloody plugs for them, only for the top mounted display. Again, the internet don't find what you want these days. Don't anyone know if there's an adapter for the green plug & black fibre optic cable, to fit these centre screens. Contacted breaker. There no real help, alot just cut the wires for parts there wanting to sell Any body on this forum any ideas on the plugs/wiring I need. I took pics of the plugs I have |

Why not go to a dealer and ask the tech department their views. I’m not certain you will be able to achieve your dream.

Just seems stupid the Volvo didn't make it possable to easily fit another head unit, the points to fix the screens are there, I checked. But all there cars seem to be only fit for the stereo fitted from factory.
Breakers can't help, speciallest can't help. If there's a display at the top, with the cars information, there has to be away to put that information on the centre screen, I can't even find a wiring diagram for any of the screens, or I'd try to get some plugs with some wire attached, & mess around to see what I can get. |

I think I've answered this before but you are attempting to convert a non-sensus car to sensus. Whilst anything is technically possible... it will affect almost every module on the car...
