Default High Performance Sound and iPod Cable

About to pick XC60 up coming weekend and prepping bits I need. I ordered the High Performance sound system to get the USB/iPod integration. Do Volvo supply the iPod cable or do I need to buy another cable? (I have the original cable of course but would want to have a cable for the car and one at home).

I certainly didn't get any cables with my Premium sound-equipped XC60 - and it won't read my 60GB iPod, probably because there are too many folders/files on it. So now I have a slimmed-down music collection on a 32GB USB memory stick for the car.

No cables came with mine, (High Performance Sound) - you just need the iPod to USB lead to make the connection.

I'm like Ron, although the Ipod Touch works just fine, I've now just copied all the music over to a USB stick which stays more or less permanently in the car.

Thanks all - think I order a new cable and see how that goes. Sounds like the USB stick is the way to go and 32Gb seems more than enough for my purposes.

With a USB stick - do the artist name, album title, song title come up on the display? Does the Volvo read the MP3 tagged data? Or do you just see the folder/filename structure?

Have anyone ever tried plugging in portable hard disk?
This just came across my mine when reading the above post.

I got a spare portable hard disk and since the USB plug is in the glove compartment for an XC90, it would set up very nicely.

I'll give it a try later ............

The cable you use is the white one that came with your iPod.

I signed an the dotted line last weekend for a 56reg (07) sport XC90. It doesn't come with the optional USB socket (aux only) and I wondered if ti was just a matter of retrofitting some USB cable to the sounds systems ... or is the headunit different ?

Does any one know ?

Failing to retroffiting USB cable, I will install the harman kardon i-drive kit to connect the ipod.

I am using a 20Gb portable disk on my XC60 high Perf audio. The disk needs to be less than 30Gb to format as FAT16/FAT32 I believe. The downside of a USB drive is that it doesn't seem to support any of the standard playlist formats. I did start another thread asking is anyone knew if playlists were supported on a USB drive, but looks doubtful.
