You can get TomTom for your phone , I'm assuming the desire uses a version of Windows mobile (mind you TomTom is available for most platforms)

tom tom is not available for any android phone regardless of opertaing system,
i use co pilot its very easy and have had no problems it gets good reviews too.

theres also another good one which is similar and much cheaper called sygic.

I've got an 'old' HTC Tattoo and use Navigation through Google maps on mine. It regularly updates through Android Market and as long as your GPS is on then there's no problem at all.

Just wish the phone wasn't lumped with 1.5 and I could update to 2.2 but I'm not that up to date on that technology, don't want to root it just yet and have just realised I'm on the wrong boards for discussing this lol!

As you are used to the TomTom interface go for Sygic as its very close in terms of user interface and works very well - Mike

Nope, Desire runs Android, now updated to 2.2 (Froyo).

I've just grabbed one from fleabay. Rooted it, grabbed a copy of Copilot 8 plus BlueGPS4Droid. Last little app lets Copilot talk to my Parrot 3400-LS GPS as I've found the built in GPS is not so good inside the car. Phone is mounted in a Brodit powered mount. All works well now.

Hi,

I use Waze although it is not good for navigation being only part built.
You can also get Navdriod which uses maps based on OS maps. They get updated regularly too.

Edit: Just read some of the reviews on the android market for Sygic, certainly makes fun reading..
