Default Driver/Passenger Door Module issues

Hi all

Not been on here for a while, been enjoying some trouble free motoring with the tank

But now I'm having an issue with the drivers door:

I first noted the problems when I locked the car, the drivers door did not lock, and the mirror did not fold or adjust (Using Volvotech CFE) - after getting in and starting up the drivers window did not respond to the control, but the remaining windows could be controlled by the drivers door switches. BLIS and all systems on the passenger side function as normal.

After coming back from work yesterday I hooked up VIDA and there were a multitude of codes related to the door systems, the DDM was coloured red and "not found" or similar

I pulled the fuse for the DDM and reinstalled it, this has restored the locking and window functions but the power mirror stubbornly refuses to operate

Remaining codes are:
CEM-1A52 Communication with DDM control module signal missing
CEM-1A53 Communication with PDM control module signal missing

I gave up once I got the locking and window working as it had been a long day, any advice where to go from here would be appreciated...

Long shot but worth eliminating - try the UEM reset procedure in post #3 of this thread http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=40932

After that , I restored non working drivers window and mirror by cleaning the switch pad contacts and the ribbon cable. You have to remove the door card to get at the DDM but it's a doddle. Take out the usual screws at the handle, pop off the plastic trim inside the morror mount and push the central pin of the expansion rivets around the edges of the card to release them.

Thanks for the reply Brendan

I'll have a go at the UEM procedure, I have actually done it previously to cure a bouncing window and it didn't seem to work then but there's no harm in trying. I did get a transient code yesterday to do with a faulty hall sensor but that has cleared now...

I'd be surprised if it was a case of switch contacts that was causing this, the mirror fails to fold when either the dash button is pressed or when they should after locking due to the CFE, the signals from both of those would come from CANBUS and not a physical switch. The passenger mirror folds as it should in both instances...

Whistling past the graveyard here, hoping something simple will sort it first although missing signals from both sides looks ominous. I have DTC codes set in both door modules and have had since I got the car.

Tell me about it...

I've had "internal fault" in both the left and right BLIS cameras persistently since I bought mine, yet the system remains fully functional

Been a few days now, everything is working except the driver's mirror

Won't fold using either dash button or CFE when locked, won't adjust the glass using the door controls

Frustratingly though, the glass does adjust when reverse is engaged due to the CFE, so it's getting power and the motors are working!!

Yet another bump...

Had chance to take the mirror apart the other day and found that the mirror motor is getting +/-12V when the other mirror retracts and extends

So it seems that the motor has failed - had a look at the parts fiches but does anybody know if you can get the motor as a separate unit or is it only available with a new mirror?
