Default I’ve bought one.

Offer accepted and paid for via PayPal. Item expected about 21st.
Offer £40.00. VAT £10.03. Postage £10.17. Total £60.20.
I don’t need one at present but feel it wise to have a spare. I may live long enough and the car may last long enough to need one.
Thank you everyone.

Glad you joined the party and ordered one, your's is the very same reason I got mine ! Don't know how many of them the seller has, I'm a little suprised that more are not getting one while the going is good. Anyone else got their's yet, and is pleased with it. David.

Many thanks for the “heads up”.
The image differs slightly from the original valve which I removed in that the white operating arm is cranked and it has a hole in the end to connect the operating cable, whereas mine is not cranked and has a nub on the end instead of a hole. When the new one arrives I will crawl in and compare it with the OEM one that I have fitted now. I suspect that the operating system may be slightly different with mine having a lever on the valve mounting plate/housing which bears against the nub on the valve lever, as I mentioned in my original post way back when.

Edit: Unfortunately I cannot find my original write up.

Mine has just arrived. It's a simple beast. Anyone know how to decode the production roundel on Bosch parts? (there's a 12 in a target with some dots around it, likely to be a production quality control mark). Would be interesting to determine whether this is NOS or a new run.

Identifying marks

Confirmed Bosch P/No is 0928400016 and the Volvo number is 9463108. Also on that label is 6680 & Germany. On the back of the leg it's stamped 307

On the black valve body under the control arm it's marked 0928400183, which is slightly odd as it doesn't match the sticker on the box?

Barcode on the box is 3 165143 178492

Quality

Interior barb is pretty robust and ribbed (for our pleasure). Engine bay pipe is thin-walled, you'll need to be really careful torquing up the hose clamp. Probably one of those where you tighten just until the leak stops. ID looks to be around 12mm (let's call it 1/2 inch) if you want to sleeve it before installation. Just make sure it doesn't interfere with the control flap.

I have a new Volvo one as well, so it will be interesting to compare the two when mine arrives

My guess is that it will be week 3 of the first 1/4 (3 dots in red in the outside of the first quadrant in green) of year 2012, 12 in yellow.

That would be late March 2012 if they go on the calendar year or late June 2012 if they go on April-March as their production year - i've known both methods in different firms over the years.

If anyone has a better guess/knowledge, it would be interesting to know for sure though!

That engine bay pipe is what killed my original one. Previous to my ownership someone must have overtightened the hose clip causing the pipe to deform which allowed a leak. The valve itself was still leakproof. There is an image of my old valve somewhere, showing the deformed pipe, in one of my replies to heater valve posts.

Should also add - no additional duty to pay, so the price you pay on eBay is the final price.

Just pay close attention to the fact that postage AND VAT is added to the listing price.

eBay collect the VAT at source to meet current EU regulations, which in turn is acceptable to the ladies and gentlemen from HMRC.

I've just had a closer look at mine, everything is identical to yours except, in the target as you describe it, mine has the number 60, and yes some 12mm copper pipe for sleeving inside the hose stubs would be a good idea to prevent the stubs deforming if over tightened on the hoses, only short lengths of sleeving would be required, perhaps a little glue on the copper sleeving to prevent going too far down.
