Default Auto gearbox revs higher between gear changes

Hi

I have a 2008 S80 2.5T with automatic / geartronic transmission (mileage 166,000km / 103,000mi).

Recently I have noticed the revvs are higher before it gears up to the next gear (usually 2nd-3rd / 3rd to 4th). There is no shudder whatsoever, just higher revs. (the revs are up to 3,000 - 3,400 range when gearing up).

There are no warning lights or messages on the dash

I haven't ever changed the ATF fluid.

Any suggesitons would be welcome.

Hi,

Get the fluid changed probably. Certainly get the transmission fluid checked. There is another post in here about changing the auto-gearbox transmission fluid and as far as I can remember it was recommended at the 100k mile point.

Depending on the services that have been carried out, whether dealer or not, there maybe software updates due as well.

Des. . .
