Default V40 Over Heating

Good Afternoon

I've already read through some threads on this, but am just seeing what else people think.

After a lot of saving & trying to decided what car to buy I bought a 2014 V40 D2 (1.6) R Design (Used) in April of this year.
Mileage 90k but full service history, been great.
Everything was going great until September when It started to over heat on a journey.
I promptly pulled over as it said to do so on the screen, & contacted the AA.
On closer inspection it became apparent the heater was not getting hot (not being used as summer time) & there was air in the system. They thought the water pump was at fault.
I had the car towed into my local garage where they replaced the Thermostat, Water pump (Inc. new cam belt) & hose to expansion tank.
This seemed to fix the problem until today.
I've just been on a short run & the heater has just suddenly stopped blowing out warm air.
The coolant level is fine & the car has not over heated (as yet), but I think it could be because air is getting into the system again.
Is it right from what I've read it is probably going to be a engine block?

I look forward to peoples thoughts.
Kind Regards
Mark

Thanks for that, I have since found out the head gasket was replaced November last year by a Volvo dealer in reading.
Tried to speak with them but no help at all 😁
