Etm question

Hi I sold a etm for a 2001 V70 n/a which owner has same make model and year of car he had it installed at his local garage and they report the fault is with etm.
The etm I sold was bench tested by bba reman and came back as no faults.
My question is the etm a plug and play with V70 same model or does he need software update to sync etm with his car thanks...

Yes the ETM is a module with software to match it to the car it was built with , serial numbers must match .. It is unlikely a software reload would work as volvo need a virgin ETM to load it to .

Hello
I have a 2001 2.4T and my mate has a 2001 T5. We have tried to swap ETM, and they are working on both cars.
So swapping an ETM can be done if you are able to find one from within the same modelyear.

Swapped my etm few years ago.

No reprogramming, no issues.

(Bought second hand off ebay part number matched and that's all I needed to know)
