2006 V70 injector knocking
Hi all.
This is my first post in this forum as i am planning to buy my first Volvo. I am going to look at a 2006 V70 awd d5 however it has a knocking noise coming from one of the injectors. The noise isn't there on idle and it is present on revving and then dissapers after . Is it a sign that the injector needs replacing? Can i get a second hand one same part number and fit it? Or needs coding? Is there anybody reconditioning these injectors? Thanks you all |

Saw that one on eBay, even though I’m not looking!
If you get it, run some injector purge through it, maybquieten it down. If I’m thinking of the right car, it was owned by an old guy, so may just need an Italian tune up. And no, I don’t think you can just replace the injectors on that engine, |

I have always owned petrol cars, however i have to travel far for work hence need a diesel. So how do you replace these injectors? Need a software to code them? How about if i take the offending injector out and send it to be refurbished, will it still need coding? Thanks for the input |

Can i at least get the faulty injector refurbished?
There is an article on this forum when a member with a similar engine had success installing type 2 injectors. Any ideas? |

Mine's the earlier engine which is easy.
All I can go on this my Dad used to have a 185BHP 2006 XC70 which had a ticking injector, it was suggested on here that it needed a new one, and it would need coding to the car (by volvo presumably). He never did it and kept the car another 2 years before changing it (still running well). I'd suggest having a dig around the forum for more info, although if I was to buy that car the injector wouldn't bother me. |

I saw some reconditioned injectors for this specific engine online for 150 quid... I hope that an indi volvo specialist would have the right gizmo to code it.
Volvo will want mega bucks to do change an injector. Somebody on this forum claimed that he got a reco injector and fitted it and it worked no coding required. This is the post from that forum member: My D5244T4 (and car) was built in November 2007 and the injectors are all the following: According to Darwen Diesels, the relevant information to obtain a replacement was the '0445110 298' number. I bought one from them on Monday and it arrived on Tuesday. The lower number also matched my other injectors (30777526) but this wasn't necessary when querying a replacement with them - it was only the '0445' number they needed. The injector was a simple swap-out with no configuration required and worked perfectly. I'll certainly be shopping from those guys again (they were very polite and helpful on the phone also). You can find the above and other Volvo injectors here: http://www.darwendiesels.com/search?...uery=volvo&p=3 __________________ |
