I suspect can also be caused by a failing battery where the voltage gets low during cranking.... used to happen on the Mrs V50 when the battery was end of life.

Car has a brand new Bosch S5 battery fitted, I did check the static, charge and crank with my tester and it came back with a pass on every cycle so I can rule out a battery.

Regards.

Not wanting to be the Pte Frazer from Dads Army ....(doomed etc) ... but I had this about 6 weeks ago, very intermittent. I did all the usual checks and battery condition etc. ...... it progressed until I also started getting the Anti-Skid/ABS service message, and the Brake Assist disabled message, again very intermittent, but could be away for days at a time .... turned out to be an ABS reluctor ring had cracked.
ABS sensor cleaned, reluctor ring changed ... faults and messages all gone. So it may be a symptom of things to come .... just my experience, hope it helps.
