Extra Blind Spot Mirrors
I havn't driven for a while and the V50 (2010) is a new car for me.
I took some driving lessons before I started driving it and the driving instructor recommended getting extra blind spot mirrors, they perched on top of his wing mirror. Is this something you can get for the V50, I don't have Blis or parking sensors. I searched the forum and could not find any advice, it seems like some Volvos have special glass in the wing mirrors so you get a better field of vision?, I am not sure if I have this or not.. Does anyone else do this, add extra blind spot mirrors? |

the V50 is new to me too, havent yet found a blind spot really
ex biker tho so the "turn head lots" way of driving is me, yes i Still pull a "last check" over shoulder before lane changes etc even though im in a car If it is a "clips onto the housing type" add on , why not, the sticks to the mirror type personal pov is no ta, they always appear to cut down the existing mirrors view for a "supposed better" bit,

You could probably find them on ebay as they will be universal fitment. Here you go https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_f...+mirror&_sop=2 or you could go to Halfords or your local car accessory shop and probably they will have them HTH.

The V50/S40 wing mirrors are fairly small in terms of the viewing area but I've never had an issue with blind spots at all, they are 'shaped' towards the ends to widen your view, using your rear view mirror predominantly helps to stay aware of what's around you though.
Driving instructors love those little stick-on mirrors I think because they help students keep an eye on the curb whilst parallel parking and reversing around corners etc.

i too have found the v50s door mirrors smaller than the s40(x reg plate) but no real loss of vision, if i were honest the A pillars being as thick as they are could be more of a concern, or the imho Stupid placement of the rear view mirror , too far Down the screen from the roof like and has gotten in line of sight at a few roundabouts, but that could be due to my height + seat position and wot colour the postmans socks were a week last thursday
for me i dont feel the need to add to the door mirrors, other than perhaps the upgrade to the "puddle lights" ones :P
