V90 to V90 CC
I have just swapped a V90 (Momentum Pro) for a V90 CC (Momentum Pro) and thought I would share some first impressions.
I think lots of small differences add up to a much better car. On paper the two are not that different and you may feel the extra cost is not worth it but here is what I have noticed (in no particular order). 1. The higher position helps visibility - especially on a long car. It is 60-65 mm and noticeable when driving. 2. The ride is much smoother and quieter - without starting to wallow or lean in corners. On rough roads it is much better. 3. The seats are more supportive. The difference is an extra line of leather and stitching but enough to notice. 4. AWD is worth it. For us (in Scotland it makes a real difference). 5. The small bits of extra trim and extra leather bits make the inside feel a bit better (the normal V90 is hardly a slum). 6. I like the look. The black trim around the windows matches the black on the lower part of the car really well. I know this is a personal thing though. 7. The ground clearance is truly great. 8. I think the ride and handling are the best of the SPA bunch - better than an XC90. If anyone is considering a V90 or V90CC I would recommend a really decent test drive in both. I am really really happy with my V90 CC. |

I came to the same conclusion as you when I compared them. I liked my XC70 very much

I didn’t own a V90 (came from an xc60) and believe the car strikes the right balance between dynamics, comfort and off-road ability. It is still a little unsettled on imperfect tarmac, you can feel a lot of feedback through the wheel, and that’s with the 4-c chassis and air suspension. The handling through bends is good however for a car of this weight and size.

Concerning suspension, the XC90 may have the advantage.
If I am not mistaken, air suspension of the V90CC is on the rear wheels only.
