OTA Updates For Apps?
I left home on Tuesday 17th October to drive to Germany, via DFDS Ferries.
Along the way, I got a notification that App Updates were available and I downloaded and installed eight updates. These updateds may not be directly connected, but I am having problems: 1. Sensus has started crashing again. 2. When entering a tunnel, for example, the Central Display and Drivers Display would auto dim. On exciting the tunnel, only the Drivers Display would return to normal brilliance, the Central Display stayed dimmed. To rectify this, I had to stop, switch off the engine, open the drivers door, close and restart, to reboot. Volvo Inverness are aware of these two problems and a fault report has been sent to Volvo UK. Further to the above, today I got two audible alarms and a flashing “No Entry Sign” on the Drivers Display. The car was not anywhere near a No Entry road/Sign. This additional fault has been emailed to my Dealer this evening. Question, has anyone else had these App Updates in the last 8/10 days and if so, have they caused any problems? My concern, is the V90 starting to go into Melt Down and will it eventually go into Limp Mode, before a fix is applied? I have said to the Service Manager, I wonder if there is a faulty Module/s that need replaced? I really like the V90, but ??? tem.

Yes, but a number of app updates the other day, but I did not experience any of the issues you are reporting.
Factory reset might be in order, as might a full CANbus update by your dealer Have had random road signs reported in the past, when they are not actually there (and bit even uk signs), but not for some time now: 5-6 months

I also was invited to update apps a few days ago. Did so, no issues, everything has continued to work fine.

I updated 6 apps the other day. No problems so far other than the Weather app not working but as I don't use this I'll wait and see if it fixes itself eventually. I occasionally get the 'No entry' warning but it's usually because of a sign that the car has detected on a nearby road.
The sad thing is that 2 years after the SPA platform became available we are still getting weird and unpredictable events happening. When mine was with the dealer last week the service guy jokingly asked if I wanted to pre-book a slot in Dec in anticipation of the next thing to go wrong. My lack of faith in the car is another reason why I won't be driving to the Alps in winter with it. Hope your car settles down.

I updated TuneIn and one other app yesterday. No issues whatsoever. And aside from one single Reboot I had no problems at all with the system so far.
One thing I generally do, not only in the car, but also for my phone and computer, is not to update more then 2-3 apps/programms at once. Those updates can get in each others way and cause issues. It is better to restart in between.

Just got an email from the Service Manager to book the car in for at least two days.
They want to get the recurring/new problems resolved and has stated, that parts may need to be ordered. The pain, is having to drive 108 miles to the Dealership and on top of this, are the delays due to roadworks and bridge repairs along the way. tem.

I like listening to Smooth Extra. Maybe I should remove all the other apps, but will wait until the Service Dept have had a go at fixing the problems. tem.

Mine updated 8 apps the other day, one (can't remember which) failed to install after downloading but it did install OK at the second attempt.
All working fine without problem, I tend to use the weather app and tune-in most days and used the Wiki location one on a trip around North Wales recently, better than any guide book! Paul

I did not bother updating the apps as I never use them, wish Volvo would give us some useful apps, google search app and google maps for a start.
