Default 240 owner..

Last weekend I got a 240 estate. Chuffed! How ever... am after some wheels for it. Really I’d like to stick with Volvo wheels! Would the later wheels fit? Some thing little taller (17inch) and my be little wider.

The only factory 17" wheel that fits a 240 is the Volvo "Polaris" wheel. They are ridiculously rare and command more than £800 a set when they do crop up.

There's a couple of 16" wheels available. The most desirable are the Volvo "Galaxy" wheel and the "Gemini". Again, both are really rare and £500+ for good sets.

Failing that, there's the 15" "Virgo" wheel as found on all Volvo 240 GLT's.

You can fit some Volvo 740 and 940 wheels but they are all hideous.

Other than those, you're out of luck and will have to either look to aftermarket wheels or get some PCD adaptors made by Superforma for £200-ish and then the world is your oyster. Run whatever fitment you like.

I use 5x114.3 on my 240 which is big Japanese stuff. There are masses of wheels available in all sorts of sizes and widths, plenty of offsets too.

Also be aware that anything wider than a 7" on the rear of a 240 will require the arch lips hammering back because they are huge and will catch.

Thanks for the info. I was kinda hoping.. still it was worth a go. I’ll try get a photo of my wheels up. I do like them but they are little thin for my liking. Lucky I have access to a cnc so I would make some adapters up.
