Default MOT Failed

Hey guys,

So my car failed its MOT on a few points. Im going to fix a few of the issues just need a bit of advice.

1. Battery leaking electrolyte
2. Anti Roll bar has excessive play in ball join n/s rear
3. Coil Spring broken O/S Front (explains why it looks slammed)
4. Rear brake binding n/s
5. Parking break efficiency below req

1. So, I will get a new battery and replace it, not sure what battery I should get, does it make much difference?

2. No idea, thinking I will leave this for the Mech.

3. Been thinking of replacing springs/shocks for a while, so might just do this. Would it matter if I only replaced one with a lowered spring, till i get time to do the others?

4. Not sure about this one.

5. This is something I have been putting off for a while, maybe now I will fix it.

Any advice on the above jobs would be great, cheers

Phil

4 & 5 might be linked. I suspect your handbrake cables are corroded within the sheaths.

The brake caliper rubber sliders hold water and the alloy caliper corrode behind the rubber,

They need new rubber inserts and the corrosion cleaning up

Thanks, Phil, I did, thankfully, a pass with no advisories. It's a relief, based on the amount I've spent on it recently!!
