Stuck CD
I have an '05 XC90 that has a cd stuck in the radio. Any ideas as to how to remove it would be greatly appreciated as the dealer wants over $1000 to fix it; they want to put a new radio in. It wont eject with the button. Please help

I had a similar issue where one of the kids put a 50p into the cd slot. I did a search on here to find out how to remove the radio and managed to fix it. There are quite a few screws & wires involved so you could get in a bit of a mess if you are not confident with this type of thing. It happend last year when my car was only about one month old.

If you can get the radio out, disconnect the power from it for about ten minutes and then re connect it(or maybe disconnect the car battery), this may get the cd player to reset and eject the disc, failing that your into pulling the back off it and removing the disc yourself (if your technicaly minded).

The power off trick does not work. I had the battery out for hours once before and that didnt work. Can some one send the link on how to get the face plate or radio out to work on it. I cant figure out what parts need to come off to get to radio. Thanks in advance.

Have a look at my guide here, which also shows how to take the radio unit out and disassemble. In one of the photos you can see the cd unit.
(there is no need to take the side panels off if you just want to access the radio unit) http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=107172

If the CD is homemade and has errors on it, the solution that worked for me was to remove the infotainment fuse for one night. Its location is explained in the manual. The player will then restart and after that you can eject the CD.
