6 digit code
Is there a definitive guide to the 6 digit code on the VIN plate wrt suspension?
From searching on the forum, I know that the id plate thats on the firewall in the engine bay, bottom left corner has a 6 digit alphanumeric code(postion 1-number 2-letter 3-letter 4-number 5-letter 6-letter. first 2 digits is front spring code, 3rd is front antiroll bar- 4and 5 is rear spring code and 6 is rear antiroll bar. Is there a list of what each of the codes means and corresponding part numbers? Mine is 2BV1BX

Each six digit code is specific to what supsension was chosen at time of order.
I don't believe there's an available website to compare codes against part numbers so you'll need access to the Volvo mainframe to determine what is what. There are so many different variations of spring it's quite taxing just looking at VADIS Options for the phase 1 are a totally different kettle of fish See for yourself:

...Hello Baffler, i had a look as well in Vadis and the only time a part no. comes up is if your in a suspension kit......i put my VIN into it and still did not get a single part number for springs only a part number by a colour code......but i did learn that the codes on the 2001 VIN plate are different to what`s on My T4 VIN plate ...the plate is blank where the suspension codes are suppose to be and numbers in the other gaps on the plate which relate to "Who Knows"......

Website Helps Match Suspension Codes to Parts
Once you know your suspension codes, this site is handy for matching the corresponding suspension parts. The following page pertains to parts for rear suspensions:

Hmm, the bottom left space on my VIN plate (under the color code) is blank, so is the bottom right. What does that mean?
