Is there a 240 diesal engine?i am looking for a replacement engine for my
petrol 240 GL.

Hi,
There was never a propre UK 240 Diesel, but there was in europe.
It used a non turbo version of the D24 at 82hp.
I do not know whether any one has put one in a 240 out of a 740/940 in the UK,or if the stering column
would get in the way.
You would have to bo a good milage to make it worth converting from petrol.
Having been in a diesel 240, they are not that refined, I think you would be better geting
a good petrol engine to go in your car.
On the other hand if you are up for a chalange, it would make a good project.

Default 940 tdi auto 1995

hi

look out for a 940 diesel . mine has 193000 now had it 12 years very reliable now i replace the glow plugs every 4 years thats the only breakdown ive had and that was when i just got it .

Hi,thanks for the reply-I like not having any electronics in the car[less to go wrong]are the 940s older models,could i swop the engine I wonder.it is about being fuel economy really.tashka
